" I have no idea what to wear"
I hear it all the time:
"I hate having my photos done because I can never figure out what we should wear."
Been there, done that. I get it!
I knew as a full-service photographer, I needed to take this burden away from my clients and help make this part of the process very seamless. That is where style & select comes in. It's SO easy.
"Should we all wear the same color?"
A lot of times families come to me with style questions, and their first question usually is,
"Should we all wear the same color top and jeans?"
My answer nine out of ten times? No.
Don't get me wrong, there is an aesthetic there that I absolutely love.
However, often my clients find themselves regretting that choice, and I am all about getting it right the first time.
You will hear me say over and over again as we plan your outfit: Coordinate, don't match.
Here are just a few tips I give my clients:
- Start with a color palette. Together we will talk about which color palette will look best for the time of year along with the location that we have picked from my exclusive location list.
- Choose 2 different patterns for every solid color. So, Mom wears simple floral, child wears a solid color, and Dad wears a simple pattern.
- Choose 1 texture for every solid. If Dad is going to wear a solid color cotton shirt, have someone wear a sweater, lace, wool, or velvet. Just simply add another material to break up the texture in the photos.
The Don'ts
All my clients will receive a list of what NOT to wear during your session. Along with guidance on how to accessorize and/or bring those outfits to the next level for a little extra oomph.
