Why Have a Cake Smash?

Looking back on my kid's first birthdays, I wanted so badly to be that "Pinterest mom." Having the perfect theme, decorations, cake - the whole shebang while simultaneously taking pictures AND being present in the moment. I am exhausted just thinking about it all!

So what if you could forego the stress of at least a couple items on that list? You'd do it in a heartbeat - and that is exactly what my Cake Smash Sessions offer to parents.

THEME

When you choose to book your cake smash session at my Vassalboro Maine studio, the only decision is the theme you want - which we will discuss during our consultation.

There are SO MANY themes to pick from, and thankfully we have Pinterest to use as inspiration if you aren't really sure what you want.

If you happen to have a prop/idea you specifically want to use, we can of course work it into the set. I will, however, say that less is more when it comes to the background of your sessions as you want the focus to be on your little one!

If you are lucky enough to have a birthday in the warmer months of the year, an outside cake smash is always an option as well.

By now, you've seen all the wonderful cakes featured from past sessions and are probably wondering if I just happen to be an amazing cake decorator as well as a photographer (I WISH I was that talented!). They are all completely customizable to your session, and I'm happy to offer suggestions and options for cake decoration services in the area.
