Recently, I had the privilege of photographing sweet baby Dakota at my Gallagher Photography Studio in Vassalboro, ME. This newborn session was extra special—not only because of the beautiful color palette—but also because Traci, Dakota’s mom, is a fellow photographer who trusted me to capture these once-in-a-lifetime moments.

When planning a newborn session, I love to incorporate elements that reflect the family’s style. Traci requested creams, neutrals, and greens; a soft and timeless combination that worked beautifully with Dakota’s delicate features.
Before sessions, I always ask parents for photos of the nursery if they have one, as it helps me create a set that complements their home’s aesthetic. This approach ensures the final images fit seamlessly into their space and feel uniquely personal.
For Dakota’s session, I pulled soft greens and neutrals from her nursery theme, using textured blankets and my signature cream flokati to create a warm and organic feel. The result? A timeless and heartfelt session that highlights the beauty of this special stage in her life.

A new environment, new sounds, and bright lights can sometimes make siblings hesitant, but Logan was a rockstar throughout the session. His smiles came easily, and he embraced each moment with his new baby sister.
To keep the session relaxed, I always allow extra time for breaks, soothing moments, and adjustments as needed. A calm environment ensures that both baby and parents feel at ease, leading to the best possible photos.
