Welcoming a new addition to the family is a magical moment, and capturing the enchantment of Becca and Derek's journey during their maternity and newborn sessions was truly a spellbinding experience. This Maine studio session was filled with love, laughter, and a touch of wizardry as we celebrated the impending arrival of their daughter, Sloan.
The Attire Selection Process
The anticipation was palpable as Becca adorned in stunning dresses from our client closet. During her consultation, Becca tried on an array of client closet dresses. She opted for a bold red dress with a tight belly, baggy arms, and a mermaid tail; a sleek black silk dress; and a charming sage/teal gown. Becca radiated confidence and elegance. Working collaboratively, we selected complementary colors for Derek's attire, ensuring a cohesive and visually striking ensemble for each dress.
The maternity session itself was a testament to the deep connection between Becca and Derek. Their love and joy were evident in every frame, creating timeless images that beautifully captured the essence of this special moment in their lives.
Adding a Touch of Magic
As we transitioned into the newborn session, Becca and Derek expressed their desire to infuse a touch of magic into the photos by incorporating a Harry Potter theme. We seamlessly integrated carefully chosen props from their collection while simplifying the overall aesthetic by aligning with the Gryffindor color palette.
The resulting images were a blend of newborn innocence and wizardry, creating a unique and personalized experience for Becca, Derek, and baby Sloan. From tiny wizard hats to soft blankets in Gryffindor reds and golds, the session was a harmonious celebration of family, love, and fandom.
